Boys Basketball State Tournament Teams

The game of basketball has been played competitively in northeastern Minnesota since the early 1900's.  Since 1914, teams from the Arrowhead Region have participated in the Minnesota Boys Basketball State Tournament. These teams have fulfilled their goal of playing for the chance to bring home a State Championship. While each team did not become State Champion, the experience of playing, coaching, or cheering for your team in a State Tournament is never forgotten.

"Champions of Minnesota's Arrowhead-Boys Basketball State Tournament Teams" tells the story of the communities and 107 teams which have represented northeastern Minnesota from 1914 to 2012. The era in which these teams played reflects the history, life, and times of our region and the nation.

Featured schools, teams, and communities include Hibbing, Virginia, Duluth Central, Aurora (Aurora-Hoyt Lakes, Mesabi East), Chisholm, Buhl, Ely, Two Harbors, Duluth Denfeld, Proctor, Duluth East, Tower-Soudan, Orr, Eveleth, Gilbert, Silver Bay, Duluth Morgan Park, Cherry, AlBrook, Mountain Iron-Buhl, Cook County (Grand Marais), Marshall School (Duluth), and Lakeview Christian Academy.
